Food Delivery Courier

Deliver food across the city by bike, guided by an app that rates you after every drop. You're your own boss, within the algorithm's preferences.

A courier's bike outside a restaurant2013 – 2029

About the role

In the 2010s, apps made it possible to order almost anything to your door in thirty minutes, and couriers made it actually happen. They cycled across cities in all weather, collecting food from restaurants and carrying it up stairs, guided and rated by an app. The job was flexible, fast and very dependent on the rain.

In the Downtown Replica, you'll ride a bike with a thermal bag on your back and a phone on your handlebars. Orders will come in from members across twelve blocks. Accept them, collect them and deliver them, ideally before the fries go soft. Your rating will be visible at all times, to you and to everyone else.

What you'll do

  • Accept delivery requests within fifteen seconds.
  • Collect orders from restaurants, and wait for them politely.
  • Deliver within the estimated time, whatever the weather.
  • Climb the stairs when the elevator is “broken today”.
  • Keep your rating above 4.8.

What we're looking for

  • Confident cycling in city traffic.
  • A good sense of direction, or a good phone mount.
  • A positive attitude toward rain.
  • Comfort being managed by an app.

Perks

  • An e-bike
Electric-assisted, with a phone mount and a working bell.
  • A thermal backpack
Square, branded and able to hold four pizzas level.
  • Flexible hours
Any hours you like. The busy ones pay more.
